First Time Learners (Adults)

The First Time Learner program is for children 6 - 14 years of age, who are brand new to learning music and learning the piano. The course will cover basic musical notation and foundational piano technique.

The First Time Learners program is for adults who are brand new to learning music and the piano. This course will provide an introduction to musical notation, chords and foundational piano technique through a mixture of children's pieces and poplular music.

$25/half hour

Piano Continuers (Children)

Piano continuers for children, builds upon the introductory information, developing skills further and beinning to look at scales, chord work and popular music. This option is available for all learners who have a elementary understanding of the basics

Piano4Pleasure (Adults)

This course is for adults who are interested in playing the piano as a hobby, will fit in practice when they can and are happy to take it all in their stride. The sky is the limit.

$25/half hour

AMEB Examinations - Practical

After completing the 'First Time Learner' Program (or equiverlent), both adults and children have the option to pursue certified practical piano examinations. At Piano4Beginners we offer tuition in grades: Preliminary through to third grade. This program requires ongoing committment.

AMEB Examinations - Theory/Musicianship

After completing the 'First Time Learner' Program (or equiverlent), both adults and children have the option to pursue certified theoretical piano examinations. At Piano4Beginners we offer tuition in Preliminary grade through to second grade.

Short Courses +

Once Upon a Song

This unique short course is strictly pitched at cultivating the ability to play a song you have always wished you could. Whether you're a complete beginner to the piano or just needing the discipline of lessons to get the job done. This short course is designed to achieve all the skills and knowledge you need to play that song you wish you could.

Improvisation

Our premium course. Through an understanding of improvisation, our teachers have identified the key skills that unlock this ability. During this course you will learn to improvise in ten, 1/2 hour sessions. We'll give you the basics, incorporate some of your creativity, take a risk and you're well on your way. Includes Jazz & Pop styles. Perfect for adult learners or children 10yrs+

Practice Sessions +

Whether you're participating in another program, already studying for a practical exam with another teacher, trying to learn a new piece, or completing HSC or TAFE music courses, this exclusive option offers a disciplined approach to practice. While no further piano instruction in given during these sessions, practice techniques integral to sucess are provided, through a methodical approach and ongoing encouragement to get the most out of your practice. Be ready to work. Mid-week practice sessions aimed to improve practice technique.

Musical Notation Intensive

Learn to read musical notation in five 1/2 hour sessions and learn some tricks along the way. A great opportunity if you have never read music before or if you know the basics but need to gain some speed.
